Construction Site Cameras on the Gold Coast: High-Rise to Hinterland
The Gold Coast is Australia's largest non-capital city and its busiest high-rise residential market outside the capitals, with a light rail spine, a new hospital and Olympic venues layered on top. JobCam supplies solar-powered, 4G-connected site cameras across the City of Gold Coast and Tweed Shire, from Surfers Paradise towers to Pimpama estate stages.

Light Rail Stage 3 now runs from Broadbeach to Burleigh Heads, and the Coomera Connector will give the northern suburbs a second motorway. Coomera Hospital is under construction and the Gold Coast University Hospital continues to expand. The 2032 Games program brings upgrades to the Carrara sports precinct, Broadbeach and the Coomera indoor sports centre, and the airport terminal expansion at Coolangatta has already landed.
The private pipeline is the towers. Surfers Paradise, Broadbeach, Main Beach and Burleigh each have multiple residential towers under construction at any time, while the northern growth corridor — Pimpama, Coomera and Upper Coomera — is one of the fastest-growing areas in Queensland, with estate stages opening every month.
Local conditions that matter
Ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred in March 2025 hit the Gold Coast harder than any weather event in decades — days of power outages, beach erosion and wind damage — and summer storms with hail are routine. Add salt air on every beachside site and the humidity that corrodes cheap enclosures, and camera hardware needs to be specified for the coast, not just for Queensland.
Our towers are IP67-rated, marine-grade and engineered for wind loading, and because they run on solar and 4G they keep streaming through the grid and NBN outages that follow a severe storm. Solar yield is excellent year-round; the wet-season cloud between December and March is well within our battery autonomy.
Why Gold Coast builders choose JobCam
High-rise sites on the coastal strip need a documented record of deliveries, crane movements and after-hours access on tight urban blocks with neighbours close by. Estate sites in Pimpama and Coomera need plant and materials protected over the weekend on long, unlit boundaries. The same solar tower with 4K cameras and AI motion detection handles both, and relocates as the project moves. Time-lapse is popular on the towers, where developers use it for marketing as well as records.
